MLAA Conference & Trade Expo 2025

The biggest event on the locksmithing calendar in 2025 did not disappoint, with locksmiths from all over Australia and New Zealand flocking to Sydney for the MLAA National Conference & Trade Expo at the iconic Fullerton Hotel. This year’s program included two action-packed days of learning, networking and trade expo where we showcased many innovative security solutions.

LSC we were delighted to unveil many exciting products including the McGrath Smart Locks range of digital locks, the dynamic ABUS retail display and an exclusive world-first preview of a new Silca machine that will arrive in Australia in 2026. These products fill needs in the Australian market and excitingly complement our existing product range, to truly help us to be a locksmith’s one-stop-shop.

We were privileged to hear from keynote speaker Dave O’Toole, President of the European Locksmith Federation and Board Member of the Association of Locksmiths of America. With over 40 years in the locksmith industry, Dave has built and operated successful businesses in Dublin and Belfast. Dave shared valuable insights about global locksmithing trends, highlighting key risks and opportunities. He also discussed how the industry is evolving and what locksmiths can do to stay ahead in an increasingly digital landscape.

We congratulate Connor McColl from Norm Hyatt Locksmiths in QLD for winning the prestigious John Andrew Apprentice of the Year competition. Jointly sponsored by Silca, ABUS & LSC, Connor and his mentor will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the Silca factory in Veneto, Italy & ABUS’ factory in Wetter, Germany.

It was great to bring along so many of our supplier friends, many of whom travelled internationally for the occasion. Industry experts from ABUS, Silca, McGrath Locks, SECURAM, WH-Software and Salto Systems were all in attendance. We certainly hope you enjoyed our complete range of Security Solutions that we showcased across our stands.
