FAQs

How do I program Toyota key
When the customer has an existing Master Key (black key), these keys may be registered using a manual procedure found in Instacode.

A more accurate way to determine if the existing key is a Master Key apart from the black colour, is by inserting the existing key into the ignition and noting how the security light reacts. A Master Key will instantly extinguish, where as a valet key will leave the security light on for 2 seconds.
How do I program a Toyota remote?

All Toyota (non-proximity) remotes are programmed by manual procedure. All proximity remotes (with the exception of Prius NWH2#) are programmed automatically while the transponder is being programmed diagnostically.

Build date

It is crucial to always check the vehicle build date not the registration date.

In many cases (especially with imported models) the car may not be registered until several months after delivery to the dealership. The build date may be available on documentation inside the vehicle owner manual and is always physically noted somewhere on the vehicle chassis.
